Fall Sale Breaks New Record

The November 2009 consignment sale grossed a new record, bringing in about $15,000 for the Early Learning Program and preschool. Not only that, the consignment sale is a great way for families to pick up needed items at a fraction of the cost.

The sale supported several local charities by donating unsold items. The charities included Rising Hope, the MiRaH Center, Bailey’s Helping Hands, and AMVETS.

Thank you for your support of the 2009 sale and please join us in the spring.

Consider Bringing Your Own Bags

Grab your re-usable shopping bags or that stash of plastic bags you have hiding under the sink and head to the AUMC Kid’s Stuff Consignment sale. You may use while shopping at our sale and then use them to cart home all of your great finds.

For consignors and volunteers: If you have extra paper grocery bags or plastic shopping bags we would greatly appreciate you bringing them with you during the Friday drop off so that we can distribute them to the cashier stations and be ready for Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Still Time to Volunteer

There are only a few days left until the consignment sale, and we could still use more volunteers.  Sign up for volunteer shifts through Big Tent. Don’t forget that everyone volunteering at the consignment sale on Saturday must wear a red shirt. Any kind of red shirt is fine.

Consignor Tip: Tagging

For those of you who will be consigning items at the sale, don’t forget to tag everything and include your consignor number. Also remember to punch a hole at the top of your sales tag to place your safety pin through. It is MUCH easier on your fingers if you do this AND it make removing the sales tags so much easier. We need to keep the lines at the sale moving, so we each need to do our part in making the check out process as easy as possible for us and our customers. We can’t wait to see you at the sale!

Some Great Blog Press

A special thanks to local mom and blogger Jillian for giving a great endorsement of the consignment sale on her blog. Read the post here. Jillian shared some of the great finds she picked up last year–one of which was a basketball hoop that just so happens to be on the top of my must-find list this year. Do you have a blog? Have you posted about our sale on it? Let us know so we can add you to our blog roll!
